Our Favorite Small Businesses
Entrepreneurship is at the heart of the American Dream. Here are some other local small businesses who's owners, like us, are pouring their hearts, souls, bodies, and time into their endeavors to give you the best possible products. We reccommend them 100%!
A truly family-run small business, 2-Cool Creations makes custom, one of a kind jewelry from beautiful natural stones, metals and gems. Roseanne's Custom Cakes
We met Roseanne back when we were vendors at the Kennewick market, and she had a booth full of home-baked goodies next door to us. Roseanne has since stopped farmers' marketing to focus on her wedding and specialty cake-baking full time. Everything she makes is from scratch and tastes wonderful! Bonnie's Vine and Gift
Appropriately located on Wine Country Rd. in Prosser, this adorable wine and gift shop is owned and operated by our good friend Bonnie and her family. They stock a wide variety of Washington wines, plus interesting lagers, hard ciders, heirloom soda pops, and all kinds of fun foodie options, including a great selection of gluten-free products. You'll find plenty of supplies for entertaining guests, as well as great wine-related gifts and wine barrel furniture here, too! Check out their website: http://www.bonnievinegift.com/
Mercer Sheep Co.
Owned and operated by our good friend, Rachel, Mercer Sheep Co. specializes in handcrafted and unique jewelry, homemade sheep's milk soaps, and the occasional batch of absolutely delicious sheep's milk cheese. You can also "adopt" a sheep for your classroom, club, or other educational opportunity. You can find Rachel online, or check out her products in the gift shop at Milbrandt Winery in Prosser.
Wine O'Clock Wine Bar
Foodies, unite! Located in our home town (Prosser) this restaurant is owned and operated by another gal who dabbles her toes in the farmers' market scene. The Bunnell family owns a lavender farm and they've sold at the Prosser market in the past - now they are busy running a world-class restaurant and winery. This is one of those places that you take your friends to just to show off how awesome your little town is! So check it out - once you do, you'll be hooked! Located in Benton City overlooking the Yakima River, Sleeping Dog is run by a Husband, Wife, and Dog team (and a lot of friendly volunteers). Wine is pressed in small batches from carefully selected grapes. Larry, the winemaker, specializes in Syrah, Merlot, and well-crafted blends. Check these guys out!
The Sisters Patisserie
Just thinking about these talented ladies' pastry creations makes my mouth water! Sisters Jamie and Lisa create fabulous sweets and bring them out to farmers' markets or cater special events. Our favorites: The salty caramel sauce, the lemon tart, and the palmiers. No, wait, it's the chocolate croissants, the grape jam tart, and the chocolate truffles...hmmm, they're all our favorites!!! You can peruse their menus and book them for an event through their website: http://www.thesisterspatisserie.com/index.cfm
